When most kids are asked what they want to be when they grow up, the answer is usually police officer or firefighter (or at least it used to be, now it seems to be Youtuber). However, I remember my answer as far back as second grade was always paleontologists.
I was in love with dinosaurs and wanted to know everything about them. My parents would buy me books, movies, magazines, and anything else regarding dinosaurs.
Now, I’m quite aware that dinosaurs did not evolve into the lizards we know and love today, but thanks to Jurassic Park, the love of dinosaurs transferred into pet reptiles, and here we are today.
My first pet lizard was a Chinese water dragon named Joanna. She was a sweet and docile lizard. After she passed away, I bought an iguana, and she was anything BUT sweet and docile.
Owning both of these lizards, especially the iguana, taught me many invaluable lessons, which I can now share with you here on this site.
